Common questions
Are these real scam messages?
They are written by CashDir, but each scam card follows a pattern documented by Bank Negara Malaysia, PDRM's Commercial Crime Investigation Department or the National Scam Response Centre, such as Macau scam calls from fake police or LHDN officers, bank SMS containing links, and "guaranteed return" investment groups. Names, numbers and links are invented.
What should I do if I get a message like this?
Don't click, reply or transfer anything. Contact the organisation yourself using the number on its official website or the back of your card. If you have already sent money, call the National Scam Response Centre on 997 immediately, then your bank.
Why does everyone get the same cards?
The daily set is chosen from the Malaysia date, so friends and family can compare scores. A new set appears at midnight Malaysia time.
